Zaatar Roast Salmon

Salmon is really popular and it’s natural fattiness makes it really easy to bake. In this recipe, I make it with much loved Eastern Mediterranean za’atar twist. Za’atar is a mixture of dried thyme, sumac, toasted sesame seeds and sea salt. The aroma of the thyme, tartness of the sumac and toasty flavor of the sesame seeds drizzled in olive oil bring the salmon in a place of no return. This can be prepared and cooked all in 20 minutes.

Ingredients :

  • 4 individual sliced fillet salmon (one size)
  • 4 TBS Za’atar (1 TBS per fillet)
  • 4 TBS Olive oil
  • pinch of salt to taste

Direction

  1. Place salmon pieces in a baking pan.
  2. Lightly salt each piece.
  3. Toss each fillet with 1 TBS za’atar, ensuring it’s covered, and repeat for each piece.
  4. Drizzle olive oil on all sides of each salmon.
  5. Preheat the oven to 380°F. Roast the salmon for about 11-15 minutes.
