Orange Onion Salad

This salad has been a staple in my kitchen for as long as I can remember. It comes together in no time and adds a beautiful and refreshing touch to any table. It’s surprising how the simplest recipes can steal the show when entertaining.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large oranges
  • 1 red onion, sliced paper thin
  • 1 cup black olives, pitted
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Peel the oranges and remove the white fibers. Slice the oranges into rounds about 1/8 inch thick, making sure to remove all seeds.
  2. On a flat serving dish, layer the orange slices and top each with the paper-thin onions. Sprinkle the olives generously over the top, then drizzle a thin stream of olive oil evenly over the dish. Finally, sprinkle with a pinch of cayenne and serve.
