If I have to choose one recipe that is gorgeous, tasty, crowd pleaser and easy, I would choose these boreks. My girls and their friends would come after school and I often made a whole tray which they couldn’t wait until it was ready to serve.

Ingredients:
- 1 package of puff pastry (a whole piece, not small squares)
- 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds (for topping)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten (for egg wash)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour (for rolling the puff pastry)
Filling:
- 1 ½ cups feta cheese (Bulgarian feta preferred, crumbled)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- ½ cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon black nigella seeds (black sesame seeds)
- 1 beaten egg

Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Mix all the filling ingredients together until well combined.
- On a clean surface, lightly dusted with flour, place the puff pastry with the narrow side of the square facing you. Roll out the pastry slightly thinner using a rolling pin.
- Using a sharp knife, make 3-inch deep cuts with a width of a little less than ½ inch for braiding.
- Spread the cheese filling on top of the dough about 1 inch away from you. Roll down the dough until you reach the strips. Starting from the corner, braid the strips over the roll until all are braided and crossed.
- Brush the egg wash all over the dough. Sprinkle sesame seeds in the hollow areas, skipping the braids. Transfer the pastry to a baking pan.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
