I come from a richly diverse background rooted in Armenian, Pontic Greek, Syrian, and Lebanese culture. Growing up between Beirut and New York City exposed me to a world of unique flavors and traditions that continue to inspire my work today.
When Lebanon’s civil war uprooted, we sought safety and opportunity in NYC, a place that opened doors to education, career growth, and a secure environment to raise a family. Yet, through all the change, the resilience, warmth, and culinary artistry of the Middle East stayed with me, shaping my palate and my purpose.
For 17 years, I’ve worked as a fiber optics engineer, university lecturer, and sustainability advisor to the United Nations. Alongside this path, I developed a passion for food preservation—one that earned recognition on the international stage.
My goal now is to share my heritage through a modern Middle Eastern cookbook—one that highlights authentic recipes, cultural stories, and the deep connections that food creates. I believe that cuisine is a universal language capable of bridging cultures and bringing people together.
Where it All Started
“Food creates a link between cultures and people through memories.”
My love for food started long before I realized it. It was in the smells coming from my family’s kitchen, the way spices were tossed into pots without measurements, and the stories shared over dinner. Even after moving to New York, that connection stayed with me like a comforting memory.
In my kitchen, I find peace through cooking. Preparing dishes from slicing, sautéing, and seasoning. This helps me reconnect with my roots. Every ingredient tells a story, celebrating the value of seasonal harvests and the richness of Middle Eastern spices.
