Lebanese Pita Sandwiches

Filled with savory ground meat, aromatic spices, and a blend of cheeses, these pita pockets are a delightful fusion of flavors that will satisfy any craving for authentic Lebanese cuisine.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 cup mozzarella
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ cup feta
  • 4 medium pita breads
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 tsp baharat (Lebanese 7 spice)
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp all spice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, parsley, garlic, onion, and spices. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Split the pita breads in half and evenly distribute the meat mixture onto one open side of each pita. Add the cheeses and cover with the other half of the pita.
  3. Place the prepared pitas on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush each pita with olive oil and bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Then, flip them and bake for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and slice the pitas into triangles before serving.
