Creamy Feta Dip

In Eastern Mediterranean countries, delicious dips are a staple mezze (appetizer). These appetizers can be simple yet rich in taste. When drizzled with high-quality olive oil and warm spices, any nice dip can elevate the flavor of your refreshing drinks. While traditionally labneh is used, Greek yogurt can be a great alternative that still achieves a smooth, velvety taste. This dip becomes irresistible with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of za’atar.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces feta cheese
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon za’atar
  • 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the feta cheese and pat it dry. Place it in a deep bowl and mash it well with a fork.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt and mix it together to create a thick paste.
  3. Spread the mixture on a flat dish. Generously drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with za’atar and Aleppo pepper.
  4. Serve with warm toasted bread.
