Ingredients

  • Fresh toasted bagel (a must)
  • A generous amount of hummus (a must)
  • Za’atar (highly recommended)
  • Cherry tomatoes sliced
  • Fresh mint
  • Avocado
  • Olive oil for drizzling (a must)

Instructions:

  1. Toast the Bagel:
    • Begin by toasting the bagel to your desired level of crispiness.
  2. Spread Hummus:
    • Generously spread a thick layer of hummus on both halves of the toasted bagel.
  3. Sprinkle Za’atar:
    • Sprinkle a good amount of za’atar over the hummus to enhance the Middle Eastern flavor.
  4. Add Cherry Tomatoes:
    • Place the sliced cherry tomatoes evenly over the hummus on one half of the bagel.
  5. Layer Fresh Mint:
    • Add a few fresh mint leaves to the cherry tomatoes for a refreshing taste.
  6. Arrange Avocado Slices:
    • Place the avocado slices on the other half of the bagel.
  7. Drizzle with Olive Oil:
    • Drizzle olive oil over the avocado and tomato layers for added richness.
  8. Season with Sea Salt:
    • Sprinkle coarse sea salt over the tomatoes and avocado to taste.
  9. Add Olives:
    • Add a few olives on top or serve on the side for extra flavor.
  10. Assemble the Sandwich:
    • Carefully combine the two halves of the bagel to complete your Middle Eastern-style bagel sandwich.
